JROTC Ball
This last weekend Nikki went to her first military ball. She didn't plan very well because she was on the fence on if she would go because her best friend Tana and her date (friend) Tristen wouldn't go she wasn't sure she would go solo.
Well on Wed she decided she would go solo and Freedom was going to send her a dress which she got on Sat morning (dance sat night) and it didn't flatter her frame. So off we went to go find a dress and of course Nikki was moody and cranky cause now she might get a dress that someone else will be wearing or she won't have enough time to find one. We landed at my least favorite place the mall!!! I know I hate the mall wierd for a girl I know. We started in JC Pennies and found like 4 formal dresses and one Nikki actually liked but was a size smaller then she was used to wearing so we looked forever for the next size but to no avail it wasn't there. I convinced her to try on the dress anyway. WOW it fit can you believe it something I said made since. LOL
Now off to find shoes I drug Nikki into another store that "wouldn't have anything for my fat feet" after about 4 pairs of heels I looked in clearance and look there is a pair that match and Nikki loves mom strikes again.
Now we race home because you know the dance is in 4 hrs and she has to shower, do her hair, and make up. She dries her hair and we plug in the curling iron and I start to curl her hair. Her blasted hair won't take a curl no matter what product I add, hairspray, long I hold it just not working. Meanwhile I am getting attitude from Nikki "I told you it wouldn't work" "I want something I don't normally do to my hair" "just give up it won't work" well with a lot of prayers and patience we tried like 100 different hair styles and finally when Nikki was upstairs looking for more clips to try she remembered something I used to do to the girls hair when they were young. TaDah it looked great and she had never worn it before.
Now off to find some jewelry from moms jewelry and I find the necklace I bought for her for Christmas (and forgot about) and a necklace her dad (Joe) gave me, the only thing he ever got me, and I gave them both to her. She wore the daughter necklace that I bought her and the earrings that I got in Alaska. She was gorgeous I made her pose for some pictures and took her to the ball.
After the ball she thanked me for putting up with her cranky butt and that she had the time of her life. Thank goodness I kept a positive attitude and kept my mouth shut because she had a great time and now has the memory that she can keep always of me being supportive and positive against her being negative and cranky and it turned out the the positive won the day.

Spring Break
Well not much happening this week just a take home test and a whole lot of me trying to relax. Nikki turned 16 on Tuesday and they didn't have school because it was the primaries here in Tennessee so she lucked out. We went and saw a movie together and just had some girl time while Jeff was at work. Got a great deal on some picture frames that are super basic so I have been getting in touch with my artistic side LOL and painting them making them more personal for each of the kids. Had Carolina come and stay a couple days while she was doing some training at Ft. Campbell. Had a meeting with a company here that does foster kids Jeff and I are talking about it and it may turn out really cool gotta wait and see what the future brings from the doctor and the military first.

Drill Weekend
It was a fabulous drill weekend for 3 days all staying in the barracks at Ft. Knox. The first day we had to adjust fire and go to the EST range due to weather. We had tornado watch in effect. I qualified 2nd class on the 9mm and sharpshooter on the M16. We all went back to the barracks just in time to sit in the basement while the tornados went by and touched down on Ft. Knox. Tons of fun sitting on freezing cold cement waiting for storm to pass.
Well next day up early and I was told to go out to range early with the safeties so off I went to help. Spent entire day loading mag's and qualifying. Until some dumbass in the lane next to me emptied 20 of his rounds into my target. So I got disqualified which really sucked so I had to qualify again the next day. Passed out at like 8pm
Sunday went back to the range and I had to qualify again only got marksman but oh weel it was a qualification on a live range so that was awesome.

Weekly update
Well its been a little while since I have updated on here.
Last weekend Nikki, Tana, and I went to Rockford to go to Julia and Sophia baptism. It was very nice and I got to play with two very cute little girls.
Well the tests I was supposed to have tests done but the doctor didn't put the diagnosis on the order this was the final straw they have messed up my orders so many time so I fired the doctor and now I am going to Vanderbilt to see the specialists there. This way when tests need to be done we can have them done in the same building.
Yesterday I came upon a roll over that had a 5yr old girl that had been ejected from the car. There was no help on the scene yet, no cops, no ambulances, nothing. Well I pulled over off the side of freeway and ran to the little girl. We got her stable on ground and held c-spine. I was also calming the mother down she was hysterical and not helping her daughter at all. I did a head to toe exam and performed a neuro check on the little girl. She seemed ok neuro wise. However she was not physically ok she had pain in her head, neck, hip, arm, and stomach. When the ambulance arrived we got her loaded on spine board. They got her loaded and told mom that they were going to airlife the little girl to Nashville, Vanderbilt Hospital so they left and after about 15 min I was calm enough to drive home.
Going to the field Friday, Saturday, and Sunday should be fun except for the little issue of tornados going through here right now but hey that whats you get in Tennesee and Kentucky.
Good news next week is spring break so I get a break from school.

My health
Well for months now my Calcium levels have been high along with my Cholesterol so now I am on Cholesterol meds and will see what happens with that in a month or so.
My Ca levels however is a different matter. So ya hear Ca levels and ya think no biggie there right, WRONG Ca controls your heart as well as your bones. Well the results were high last year when I was still in Ft. Lewis but my nurse case manager said "no biggie" and sent me on my way. When I got to Ft. Campbell I had to get all my medications switched to this area and had some routine blood work done that's when it first started. My levels were elevated and they wanted more blood. So more blood I gave, then they were showing even higher so now they wanted a urine sample and a 24 hr urine to see if my kidneys were OK because Ca also causes kidney stones. Well they came back high also. So she had me do a DEXA scan to see if I was loosing Ca from my bones but that came back normal. That's when my doctor decided to send me to an specialist, Endocrinologist, in Nashville. Well off I go on a hour drive to see a specialist with a copy of all my lab work so that they can move forward without more blood work. LOL yea right they took even more blood, urine, and wanted another 24hr urine (which is a pain in the a$$ BTW). Well they got those results and guess what my Ca levels were high in both blood and urine. So now they have me go and take a what is called a parathyroid scan because 99% of the time its caused by a tumor (benign) on the parathyroid so I figured groovy get a small surgery have one of them removed and move on. Well there was no tumor so now we are left with the 1% of causes which are all bad. I'm talking cancer here and death. Come to find out having high Ca in blood and urine is really rare in fact the resident that was overseeing my care has to turn my case over to the head Endocrinologist to take care of so Tuesday I go and see her to find out what test to do next and isolate what is wrong with me. To give you and idea normal Ca is below 300, and stroke and heart attack are 350, currently at my last test was 333 and it has been slowly rising.
Side note the side effects for high Ca is what is kicking my a$$. Tiredness, weakness, memory problems, trouble concentrating, just feeling run down all the time. And lets not forget short temper and just general bitchiness (my poor family) Well lets add this to the fact that I am trying to quit smoking so I am not that easiest person to be around right now. So it has been a big pity party for me lately. I don't really have any friends that are close to me we only just moved here like 6 months ago, I don't know exactly what is wrong so its hard to tell people because it is unknown what is wrong, just hurry up and wait. Well I told my girls what was going on and of course then it spread like wildfire because the main thing that it could be right now is Cancer (breast or lung) which I am hoping for breast (hey some new boobs) lol and just that word has everyone worried. Its great that I have people who are worried at the same time not so much because then I feel like I have to comfort others because they are worried and want to know what is going on. So I figured that if I put it on here then everyone can look and read so that I won't have to explain it over and over.
Right now I have decided that I can't control my body only my response to it so I choose to live like nothing is going on (lots of coffee, suckers, and deep breaths) and just keep plugging along until the doctor tells me different. If everyone could keep me in their prayers that would be groovy
